How did I get here? As I meet people, I am always interested in their story. Where did they come from? What hobbies do they enjoy? What is their family like? Where do they work? What do they like/dislike about their jobs? What's their fav. food? etc. Everyone has a story to tell, and I love to hear it. Lately, I have been contemplating my story. And how it is that I got to where I am today. This semester has been one of the craziest semesters of my life and my life will forever be affected by the events that took place. When I started this blog in April, I was talking to Catherine Hecht. We were going on dates and enjoying each other. We started to hang out a lot more before school got out in the winter, and our friends Mitch and Amber would asks us to double up with them. One of the dates we went on, we decided to play the newly wed game. This night we realized how much we knew about each other, and as we drove home, I realized how much I like her and I was determined to kiss her. Why am I a Mormon? Lately I have been reading a book by Joseph A. Cannon called “Why I’m a Mormon?” This book contains stories from many people of the LDS faith telling their stories of why they are Mormons. I want to share my conversion story, and then add my testimony of Why I am and will always be a Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a great missionary program with over 53,000 young men and women serving in different countries around the world. I can almost guarantee that most of you have either seen a Mormon missionary or been around one who is a member of the church. As a matter of fact, when I lived in Argentina, the missionaries learned quickly to NEVER knock on my door. If they dared to do so, my mom would come out with a broom yelling “you son of a B*%&! There are many who blog, and today I have decided to join them.  Some may ask “why?” and the answer is simply “why not?” I am not a very good writer, so lets get that out of the way so you don’t expect much. I guess we can start this blog by telling a bit about who I am from my point of view. Its interesting to me the difference that lies when you describe yourself, and when others do it. But here goes my shot- My name is Rodrigo David Stabio. I was born in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. I grew up with a single mom, who happens to the most incredible woman in my life. At the age of 7, my madre met Jose, who she married, and together they had what I call the most incredible gift, my younger brother Nick.
